Melior, Inc. announces participation at PH-NEUTRAL in Berlin/GermanyDallas, May 14, 2004 --- Melior, Inc. will participate in a workshop at ph-neutral, a DEFCON- and BlackHat-sponsored security conference in Berlin, Germany, from May 21st through May 23rd, 2004, presenting the iSecure technology and product line, and offering a test-bed environment for hands-on product evaluation and testing. At the conference, Melior, Inc. will also announce new products: a stand-alone, PenTest-only Defense solution, High-Availability versions for the entire product line, and a scalable Gigabit solution, allowing the customer to invest only for actual bandwidth usage, from 200 Mbit/s to true Gigabit performance. Mr. Thomas J. Ackermann, Melior's CEO and Founder, will present at the conference. "We believe in the validation of our technology through every aspect of the computer security community," Mr. Ackermann says, "and we constantly strive to improve our unique technology - the first finite defense solution against PenTest and distributed Denial of Service attacks without the need for signatures and with real-time performance - by soliciting feedback and validation from every possible source." Less than three months after starting to ship the product, which was launched in February at the RSA Security Conference in San Francisco, Melior, Inc.'s iSecure CyberWarfare Defense product protects banks and other financial institutions, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and e-Commerce businesses. The product is in evaluation across a number of US- and European government and business sites, for both perimeter defense deployment as well as internal security policy enforcement and threat containment between network segments. According to Mr. Ackermann, "besides introducing our product, we face the challenge to educate the market (i.e. the general security industry, our customers, as much as our growing reseller base) that iSecure is not yet another application of previously existing technology applied towards a new defense solution, but a truly unique new development specific to these threats." He continues: "In order to defend against the constant vulnerability exploit-probing, also known as Penetration Testing (PenTest) attacks, we developed the first technology, which disguises the protected infrastructure and actively responds to these attacks, allowing the customer to cloak all configurations and Hardware/Software platforms, and to better track such exploit attempts. Our dDoS Defense is the first and only product, which does not require a signature, a learning curve, and performs in real-time to recognize and defend against known and unknown (i.e. "zero-day") Denial-of-Service attacks." "Several years of development have been invested in the iSecure technology, and after the European patent process - the patent has now been granted, and has been applied worldwide under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) rules - and extensive 'real-life' acceptance testing for over a year, we have proven the technology to deliver on its promises," Mr. Ackermann goes on. "Melior's engagement with non-profit Spam blacklisters, such as London-based Spamhaus (which we host), and the other remaining blacklists, kept these critical services alive, after the Spammers specifically targeted this effective approach to contain Spam with virii such as 'MyDoom'. Keeping Spamhaus alone on the Internet, protects over 200 million users of this resource, among them many military- and government agencies, and large businesses worldwide. For us, it is one of several great opportunities to demonstrate iSecure's functionality for dDoS CyberWarfare Defense, while at the same time allowing us to 'do the right thing' for the Internet, which has become a critical communications channel and the foundation for many business- and government transactions." Besides making the iSecure technology openly available to security specialists for testing, Melior, Inc. is forming an industry advisory board with global representation for review and feedback towards future product releases.
