Melior files additional criminal complaints with German Authorities
Dallas, Texas, August 17, 2006 --- Following the criminal complaint filed with the FBI in Dallas on August 15, 2005, Melior now filed additional complaints against the alleged fraud perpetrators with German authorities.
Criminal complaints on behalf of Melior, Inc., and several third parties (among them the federal German Social Security Service, the federal German Internal Revenue Service, as well as the holders of intellectual property rights for the Linux community) also victimized in the alleged fraud, have been filed with the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) (equivalent to the US federal FBI office) in Wiesbaden, Germany, on August 3rd, 2006, and with the Staatsanwaltschaft (equivalent to the US District Attorney's office) for the State of Hessen in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, on August 1st, 2006.
The Staatsanwaltschaft Frankfurt/Main assigned case number ("Geschaeftszeichen") 7550 Js 228475/06 WI on August 9th, 2006.
With the utmost respect to the laws in Germany, which do not allow to name the parties alleged to have committed and/or contributed to the fraud until a formal investigation is initiated by the authorities, Melior withholds the list of the parties at this point.
"With the extensive evidence the company provides to the FBI and the German authorities, the company feels confident to prevail with the support of the criminal prosecution, and later in civil trials in the United States," Mr. Thomas J. Ackermann, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, is quoted.
Melior Inc. CyberWarfare Defense ('melior' is Latin and means 'better') is a privately held US company, developing new network and application security technology with an initial focus to defend against Penetration Testing and distributed Denial-of-Service (dDoS) attacks, and subsequently applying this technology to the defense against Spam (UCE) and Virii/Trojans/Worms, essentially providing a new security layer: CyberWarfare Defense.
Melior, Inc. contributes actively in anti-Crime and anti-Terrorism efforts with Goverment agencies in the United States, in the European Union, and NATO member countries.
