Melior introduces CyberWarfare Defense Consulting Services
Dallas, March 1, 2006 --- Melior, Inc. now offers Consulting Services to help organizations understand and defend against CyberWarfare threats.
Having been a successful security services provider in the past, prior to restructuring the company in late 2002 to develop much-needed effective solutions against distributed Denial-of-Service (dDoS) attacks, following the DNS root server attack, Melior now offers Consulting Services specifically geared towards the understanding and defense against CyberWarfare.
"While testing products under development in 'real-life' environments, which have to sustain dDoS attacks, we have come to recognize CyberWarfare attacks are often not well understood. It is a common misconception that dDoS attacks are only creating overwhelming bandwidth flooding, when in fact the less noticable attacks - such as shrew or synflood attacks - are typically much more devasting," Mr. Thomas J. Ackermann, Melior CEO, is quoted.
"As the CAIDA backscatter analysis - reference paper - has continually shown, dDoS attacks occur more often, as media reports of only very large outages indicate. By offering our Consulting Services, we hope to help in the understanding of the risk assessments, the training of security staff, and the implementation of our products."
Melior Inc. CyberWarfare Defense ('melior' is Latin and means 'better') is a privately held US company, developing new network and application security technology with an initial focus to defend against Penetration Testing and distributed Denial-of-Service (dDoS) attacks, and subsequently applying this technology to the defense against Spam (UCE) and Virii/Trojans/Worms, essentially providing a new security layer: CyberWarfare Defense.
Melior, Inc. contributes actively in anti-Crime and anti-Terrorism efforts with Goverment agencies in the United States, in the European Union, and NATO member countries.
